In Pathlight, you have 16 types of question pages, one of them being Social links questions. The social links questions are pages on which customers can share their social media accounts and a call to action to engage with the survey taker beyond the Shopify platform.
Whether you started a new survey from scratch or from a template, you can start adding questions. Here you can learn about how to use templates and how to start a post-purchase survey from scratch.
Adding a social links question
You can use the Add questions button to start selecting from Pathlight's list of question types. In this example, we will add a social links page.
Once you've added it you will see a page like below showing a starting empty preview on the right and the menu in which we will customize the question on the left.
You can start writing the question in the Heading, and add a short description that will appear right under the question under the Body section in the left hand side menu. For this particular type of question, you can also control the alignment that will influence the display of the text included to be aligned to the left, center, or right.
For each social media account, you can input a URL and a Call to action. The call to action link will appear in the preview, along with the icon of the social media platform you just shared. You can test it from here immediately. We support a total of 9 social media platforms here: Facebook. Instagram, TikTok, Youtube, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, Reddit, Discount, Snapcat.
Advanced Settings
Now we can move to the Advanced settings, which you can access by clicking the Show advanced settings link.
"Only display once per customer" represents as it states the option to only show this once per customer to avoid showing the same survey questions to repeat customers every time they make a purchase.
The number of columns option will show the social media accounts you included here in the number of columns you select.
The next set of settings can customize where to go next from this question to the next step. You can choose to go by default to the next question, choose any other question in the quiz to move to or end the survey.
You can also update the Submit button text and choose the style of the button and alignment. Below we've selected the button to have a label of "Go to next step" and show it full-width and centered. The Default value you see under the button label can be either the built-in Pathlight text we show, or you can customize it globally in the survey in Settings.
